With a great deal of luck and a some dedicated work, our guest house roof is once again back together again. Some careful cutting meant we were able to take the metal roof apart, salvaging the parts we could. The broken roof support and facing were removed and the column twisted back into place.

For some unknown reason we had a small piece of matching roofing laying around. Which was the luck part of the repair. The last time we went shopping for the roof it took us nearly three months to find matching material. We were able to hammer part of the damage out of one of the roof pieces. The other we replaced with our extra sheet. We bough new roof supports and used up the very last of the facing we had painted to replace the broken one. We were extremely fortunate it was so straightforward to fix!

Casi como nuevo

Con mucha suerte y un poco de trabajo dedicado, el techo de nuestra casa de huéspedes vuelve a estar armado. Un corte cuidadoso significó que pudimos desarmar el techo de chapa, recuperando las partes que pudimos. Se retiraron el soporte y el revestimiento del techo rotos y se volvió a torcer la columna en su lugar.

Por alguna razón desconocida, teníamos un pequeño trozo de techo a juego por ahí. Que fue la parte afortunada de la reparación. La última vez que fuimos a comprar el techo, tardamos casi tres meses en encontrar el material adecuado. Pudimos martillar parte de los daños de una de las piezas del techo. El otro lo reemplazamos con nuestra sábana extra. Compramos nuevos soportes de techo y usamos lo último del revestimiento que habíamos pintado para reemplazar el roto. ¡Fuimos extremadamente afortunados de que fuera tan sencillo de arreglar!
