Harvest preparation starts in February and reminds me every year that I have, again, failed to blog any of the farm activities and I feel bad because there were all sorts of things to share. But then the olive harvest starts, and I lose control of anything not harvest related and there’s no time to think about catching you up via the blog. Then the harvest ends, and I think of the blog and of all of you and I think once again that I have failed to keep you updated. The idea of trying to catch up on all the farm stories I didn’t share is so overwhelming and after the harvest I’m so behind with other farm duties I tell myself I will do it later.

This year later has finally arrived. We made some changes recently so today I had time to check in on our website and look at the last post on the farm blog. I expected it to be a few years old and it to have been about that years’ olive harvest. I was shocked to find that my last post was in March of 2017. Six years and three months.

I felt bad when I thought I was only two or three years behind. But six years? We’ve been on the farm for nearly 12 years. Which means I’m not just behind. I’ve missed half the years we’ve been farming. There’s no quick way to catch up on 6 years. I’m not even going to try.

Instead, I’m going to start again from where we are now. I’ll catch you up on this years’ olive harvest first. Then I’ll start sharing about the rest of the farm. When it’s easy to remember I’ll share what we’ve changed and why. But I may not remember that we made some big change and so if you read a post and get confused, comment or send me a note and I’ll fill you (and everyone else) in on the history I missed sharing.

Lastly, thank you for still following along on our farming adventure.

Todavía aquí. Seguimos trabajando.

Me falta práctica.)

Y no voy a probar.

It’s June.
